  • A: While we don't have a formal dress code, it's good to keep in mind that you may be meeting future employers at this event. As is the case with professional conferences, there's no need to wear formal business attire, but you'll want to be presenting yourself well. This is particularly important for students participating in portfolio reviews on Sunday.

  • A: Come well-rested and with your portfolio already open and ready to show. Before the review, make sure your portfolio is finished and you have practiced presenting your projects. Take some time to consider why you created your projects and your process.

On the day of your review, remember to smile and present yourself as well as your work. Be polite and present ideas succinctly, as the reviews are timed and you will want time to hear feedback. Remember the reviewers are here to help you, so come with some questions for reviewers about your work and professional life. Don’t be afraid to ask your questions.

Take note of valuable criticism you receive and don’t be discouraged by any one comment. We encourage you to connect with your reviewers after the conference on LinkedIn.

  • A: If you would like to opt-out of the portfolio review, simply leave it un-cheked as you fill out the form when you purchase your tickets.

We can answer further questions about porfolio reviews. Please include your full name, and email us at: student-conference@stlouis.aiga.org
